I posted this in part on a Music & Stuff thread regarding The Legend HZ.
"Given the midi assignments and my APC-40 I would like a way where I can make the virtual knobs assignable with midi (up for one button and down for another), where one of the physical clip launch buttons increases that particular virtual knob value - then I can assign another physical button on the APC-40 to decrease a virtual knob value. At the moment I can only assign a physical knob on the APC-40 to increase or decrease a value. It would be great if the clip launch buttons on the APC-40 could increase or decrease a value using midi learn."
>>> Like an Advanced Midi Learn setting within The LegendHZ GUI interface to configure up and down midi values using physical controller buttons (for example like the APC-40 or even a Push Controller).

Re: The Legend HZ Midi assignments on button controllersThank you ftr for your suggestion!
Just to clarify, do you really mean knobs or other controls like pb up/down or arrow buttons? I'm not sure I understand the point of increasing/decreasing a knob value by some arbitrary amount. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Re: The Legend HZ Midi assignments on button controllersHi Richard, I threw together a quick image as an example to try and explain what I mean, I hope it makes sense.

Re: The Legend HZ Midi assignments on button controllersHi Richard, whilst I prefer the flexibility offered in the image I provided above, I have had a think about another way that it could be done using a master knob on the APC 40. Your arbitrary amount comment has got me thinking....

Re: The Legend HZ Midi assignments on button controllersWith the up/down are you referring to the MIDI NRPN protocol (Inc/Dec) or something else? Please note that the MIDI Inc/Dec NRPN commands commonly do not transmite a step size, so probably not that useful to control knobs. I also do not know if your controller can send those NRPN messages to begin with.
In the last mockup, do you mean to control specifically the RANGE parameters only? Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Re: The Legend HZ Midi assignments on button controllersHi Richard, thanks for your reply. Am not the genius you are with this stuff and hadn't heard of NRPN until your reply, so way out of my depth with the details of my request.
Regarding the last mockup, I just used RANGE as an example. What would be good would be the ability to toggle on/off for the 4 primary oscillator settings, Waveform, Range, Semi and Fine in the minimum. I am just trying to maximise the potential of the APC-40 with the primary oscillator settings on the same vertical channel that the volume mixer is used on, allowing me to fine tune and modify the oscillator settings for all six oscillators in a 'live' context. Hope that makes sense. Thanks again for replying. Edit: Given that Orion is still my primary DAW the clip buttons on the APC-40 that would otherwise be used in Ableton are redundant to me. ________________________________
