Which version of windows is being used with VMWare fusion ?
Which version of Fusion is being used ?
I'm interested in testing 64bit windows with Orion in fusion 3.
Any latency or performance issues ?

Orion Platinum 7.5 on OSX leopardHow did the Fusion session of Orion work out performance wise ?
You have to allocate Proc & Ram which can limit Orion to function as the projects increase. What was allocated in Fusion ?
Orion Platinum 7.5 on OSX leopardI'm wondering if fusion would allow you to use a UAD Card installed in a MAC Book Pro to run with Orion ?

Yeah he would, and I wouldn't mind either, but I'm still sceptical. The life span of products on the Mac unfortunately doesn't last long. To run our current plugins for instance, you need at least OS X Tiger (10.4) and that was released in 2005. Soon you may need Leopard or even Snow Leopard (rel Aug 2009). But the problem is bigger for us than for the user. When you invest several years of development time towards that platform, and then have to throw it all away because it's outdated, ugh... If you look at the past OS X releases, you can see that they were updated every 1-2 years. Windows gives you at least twice as much time on average, and there hasn't been any complications or compatibility issues afair, ever. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Orion Platinum 7.5 on OSX leopardMAC Fans I have been able to run O7 within the VMWare fusion 3 demo in UNITY Mode. This is absolutely the way to run windows within the MAC. In this mode you manage all your windows as if it were already integrated into the MAC O/S.
Even when your VM session is turned off you are provided a menu from the taskbar to search all the Windows apps what most of us are used to via BootCamp Partition. Please note; this is best setup with OSX Snow Leopard. [Worth the upgrade] The settings I used were Single CPU with 2gb RAM running Win XP SP2. This has worked flawlessy. It even recognized the UAD Card in my MacBook Pro. Current Bugs/Concern - I have a Lacie Firewire 800 drive formatted windows that is recognized but for some reason my rights don't allow me to Modify any files. I can Read only. Sounds like a permission thing which Windows is the worst with but I will continue to work on it & evaluate the performance of O7 via Fusion since my 2nd concern is that memory gets eaten up very quick with Orion [in general] especially when working with only audio files. I will have to stress test this further to see if 2gb RAM allocated will really hold up since it's shared. Otherwise, so far so good with running a 32bit app in a true 64bit surrounding. This could definitely be a huge change in my studio direction & save on electricity from the over clocked PC with 3 Fans & a 400 watt powersupply to boot.
