AUDIO TRACKs & AUDIO FILEsAnyway..... Sorry that i say, but the audio chanell is nothing. FREEWARE DAW's have much more option on the audio chanel. And i dont understand, ORION is so killer(anything...), but without preview and basic audio tools on audiofiles we not use orion. I not undersand the marketing to... If you have some basic option for audio editing on the audio files, after many users come and use ORION. We know the concept of orion and we use external wave editor etc.., but we need that options just basic things
AUDIO TRACKs & AUDIO FILEs
Orion works more as a SSW, than DAW, but has capabilities of one.
This you had in mind? Of course, this only works for the Sampler and DrumRack. For AudioTracks, appart from pressing play once the file is in the track, or finding some other way on your own, there's not much to do about it.
As I see it, basic audio tools would be Cut, Copy and Paste. Now, you can already select and move parts of an audio file within the track. You can cut: As for Copy/Past goes, you can practically select a piece of an audio file and just hold down CTRL key while dragging that part. It will make a duplicate in the track. Like this: And of course, you have a right click menu on any Audio Track, and you get this, with a few extra options, like reverse and normalize: So, as you see, the basics are there. It's how you use it. Last edited by HYPNAGOGIA on Sun May 24, 2009 2:03 am, edited 1 time in total.

AUDIO TRACKs & AUDIO FILEsbeing able to quickly change te volume of the sample would be so great(draging vertically) .+ fade in/ fade out, even with a straight line function.
For more complex stuff I can beleive that an audio editor is needed. Orion 8, Live 8Le, Cubase 4 LE, Cantana, APC40, UC16, Fostex PM1MKII, Q9550, 4G0, 1,5T, 22"+15"

Hehe so normalise and reverse is two thing.....Yes its basic tools, its very basic tools... Preview for sampler and drummachine is not the preview for "import audio" to audio track. Still Orion is killer, but with zero "audio file" editing options. I think its better when users can choose "external editor" or "basic tools" or both:)
AUDIO TRACKs & AUDIO FILEs
1. Mixer Volume slider + Automation Tracks? 2. Automation recording? Unless you're thinking something like Acid, which I think Orion doesn't move in that direction.
How can you claim it has "zero" editing options when I just showed you several? Plus you do have an option to select external audio editor and do your edits almost "on the fly" with it. Unless you haven't been paying any attention and just want some of your own stuff. See, we still haven't heard what you consider "basic audio editing options", so start talking. AUDIO TRACKs & AUDIO FILEs"basic audio editing options" on objects inserted in the audiotrack
it means that you move just the object attributes, not the channel settings here is my basic list : volume balance fade in out reverse & cut (ok it exist) inverse channel mono from (right, left, sum channel) phase inversion (could be usefull sometimes with offkick full of verb) here is why I need it : I'm using audiotrack especially for adding fx (crahes, reverse fx's...) so I need a lot of diffrent settings for each sample, and I don't want to have 20 audiotracks just for some short samples. I don't know how most of Orion User are using audiotrack. This was my basic (and not complex such as time strech or audiowarp) list. Sorry man, that i say but this is zero for me:( I start this topic in 2005 and now in 2009 still the same. I know many-many artist whos like orion, but because no audio preview for audio impot to audio track, dont use. You lost your money and users because this kindershit... I dont understand sometimes the concept of software developers and marketing promoters... The user use it, not the developer.... And if the users need some things to works, way not???!!! You are your enemy:) I never see a music software what have no preview in audio import windows... Anybody know one please post here:) Because this i tell you you lost 50% of users after first use of orion... I cant understand that a simple preview windows is to much in programming. I think with a little changes orion can grow up, and i wish this to orion, because the basic concept is one of the bests. Sorry man, that this is my opinion, but this things are important(for me). Wish the bests! Last edited by pyroman on Mon May 25, 2009 8:49 am, edited 1 time in total.
