Sorry if such a thing already exist. Could not find one, but thought it could be fine to
make one and discuss it.
First of all, I think Orion is pretty perfect to me as is so its only in the course of the obligatory and psychological "upgrade-addiction" I put this forward. Orions choice of generators are very wice. Apart from Toxic 2 and 3, I do not find any obvious redundance in the gens.
So what we are talking about here is something that wont make Orion a cluster of redundant generators like in other "famous" DAWs because that would indeed spoil the whole concept not at least in terms of workflow. However some "overlabs" are probably unavoidable.
Heres is my humble wish:
A VA modular: Could be an extended Wasp with a complex mod matrix. Of special importance is that you can mod attack, decay, substain and release times with LFOs a(which there should be plenty of). There are actually not many matrix synths that offer this, which is odd, since its pretty cool for various purposes.
A mod matrix is way faster to work with than track automation in this respect and it kind of makes the possibilities something innate to the "synth" and not the daw.
And thats it so far! Add yours if you like.
All the Best
Generator wishlist?Moderators: Christophe, Mark Generator wishlist?there is an LFO for every parameter....go into piano roll, click on bottom on event editor(?) and the LFO Toll will come up (not amazing but its there)
would be better to have a matrix on GUI (IMO) but it s there if you need it Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

I know you can automate and that is really good in Orion because all parameter are pre-assigned unlike in Sonar for instance, but I can not find any LFO shaping tools like for instance a sine, triangle or random wave-draw tool only a freedraw tool and a straight line draw tool. Am I missing it? Must admit that it is not only from a functional view but also a conceptual view that I want a VA modular. A matrix on the gui would indeed be splended.
Generator wishlist?right click in the event editor ?

Generator wishlist?I really don't like mod matrices. I made a bunch of synths with them, using several different methods, but it sucks the life out of synths. It's literally a spreadsheet approach to synthesis, not very inspiring.
There are ways of getting similar flexibility in a more conventional layout. The way I've been doing my last couple of generations of synths is a great compromise, I think. It gives you the same flexibility but by putting the destination selector with each mod source and keeping the obvious ones, like filter mod, with the destinations, it makes for a better experience overall. Generator wishlist?lol good observation. maybe not an openend matrix, but with some meaningful limited combinations. what if instead of the spreadsheet style you could have draggable connectors source/dest and value knobs.

Generator wishlist?~ brother krim speaks truth ~
Generator wishlist?eeeehhrmff......:idiot: Thank you very much CCarrieres, Krim and Sunseel that actually kind of helped amazingly indeed To Bones: Now that I have found the LFO tool it can be worked out. However I would still like a modular VA synth if for nothing else than the concept of having a native one on board to abuse. From a functional point I am even further out than a mod matrix because I usually prefer visual cables, but I would not expect such a thing in orion, so next best is a matrix. Its ok if its limited as long as the a,d,s,r are not excluded. Of course I would expect usual stuff such as mod of filter and pitch in addition. The matrix could further be extended with a step seq with routing destinations like in a real modular system, but it would not be a must, some LFOs and envs will do. I can further tell that neither Moogmodular V nor VOID nor the virtual Korg MS20 can adress LFOs to A;D;S and R individually, but only the envelope as a whole (there are some workarounds, but these require lots of envelope modules and LFOs) so an Orion version could be a little special. Kind of the same way that Wavefusion is special compared to big wavetables such as Predator, Pentagon I and Z3ta+, because the latter can not mod wavetables in PPG style with LFOs. All the best

..and its great! Just played around with it. Automation made easy!
Generator wishlist?Nooooo.. don't touch the Wasp!!!!
The beauty about Wasp is that it's very easy to program the sound quite fast, and has the best filters I've crossed path with. If such modular synth is to be made, it could be based on Wasp, but I wouldn't like to see Wasp replaced with anything else, extended or not. Good Lord! Such an evil deed was certainly not intended at all. We would have a fast little fella AND a nerd machine, thx!
Generator wishlist?Funny, I had a similar idea a while back involving Ultran. I thought it would be interesting if it could be made into a semi-modular with additional sound mangling options. The soundfonts are certainly a great starting point.

Generator wishlist?I'd like to do new generators, but the core improvements, esp. the most wanted automation improvements and templates, will keep me busy for a while. In the short term, high-quality effects are somewhat more likely simply due to the lesser GUI work required.
Anyways, VA modular is a really sweet idea. I don't mind mod matrices, I think they're better than virtual cables unless the number of possible connections gets too huge. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Generator wishlist? If you need help for a GUI, I think you would find one or two people in this forum.
