step sequencing the patterned controlled filteri would love it if the pcf could have steps defined, like fxpansion's phatsync? it's the only fx i miss from cubasis before i moved to orion.
if you could just choose 16 or 8 or whatever steps for cutoff and reso it would be much more rythmic an effect. i love doing this to drum patterns with the sampler's filter but i'd like to do it to other vstis too! if it can be done, please tell me! i will not feel stupid. step sequencing the patterned controlled filterhey, that would seem a large favour in return for merely making a short mixer skin!
i have seen vst fx filters which do the 'pattern sequence' thing, and they all semmed to either crash orion or sound poor. if you could that would be great. my all time wishlist would be for a 32 step pattern rather than 16, i.e. 2 bars not 1. that's greedy though. 16 steps would be great.
step sequencing the patterned controlled filterWait till this 'automated clip' thing is out on OP8 Harddisco - PCF will be a thing of the past.
step sequencing the patterned controlled filterI am soooooooo in for a step filter with cut of and reso control too for mangling audio clips! And it is correct that there are no good freebies in this respect. Alternatively: If Krim could make one, it would be highly appriciated. It will need a trigger though, so the step rythms always starts on note-on. I have tried making one in CM synthmaker, but it does not have a trigger and as such the step rythm can not be fixed to a bar.
step sequencing the patterned controlled filterwhat is the 'automated clip' thing going to be, DS?
i did a quick search but couldn't find a direct ref.

i think i can change the step from 1-64.....but its still a 1 bar pattern, just the size of the step changes, if that makes sense...i'll knock it together this week and get back to you. Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

step sequencing the patterned controlled filterI always wondered if it would be possible to make a Gate with 32 steps. Something like Bones' killerGATE+.

Rich has been talking about implementing a kinda Pattern Event for OP8. Much like you would manage events in a generator, these 'clips' would be totally independant and repeatable in it's own track with generators feeding off of it. IE; You could sculpt a 16 length Event to be a fast down sawtooth with a reversal at the end. Place this in a track within Song underneath Wasp per say and (I'm guessing) use 'Link To Next Controller' the Wasp Cutoff to the Event Track. Even better, you can bring something like the MonoBass in latter, and link it's Cutoff or Resonance et al to follow the same Event Patterns for a really wild sound. And to put the cherry on the cake - these Event Patterns will be saved like Templates. So if you do another song later - faster or slower, and say 'Man, I wish I could get that wild sawtooth filter effect again'... Simply go to the Pattern Events drop down menu and select 'My Gnarly Sawtooth' and plop it in the event track again and link away! Don't quote me on all the specific's of this. But I think that's what Rich is kinda hoping to acheive in the most part. Hskovlund - Have you tried Ohmboys Oh My God filter yet? That thing is pretty wild. Though most of the presets are for rythmic comb filters, you can do a lot more with it than that. I believe it's free too.
step sequencing the patterned controlled filterthanks kriminal, looking forward to that one!
step sequencing the patterned controlled filtertry these...
2 versions, the second just has FREQ/RESO only very quicklyloading in OP, so no idea if they are any good, or even what you are after..GUI is crap, but the whole thing took 10 mins (its basically a re-hash of a DH prefab) Download: http://www.box.net/shared/9p0osoy7dt Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

step sequencing the patterned controlled filterwow! that was quick. i'll have a try out as soon as i can.
thanks muchly. that was definitely above and beyond the call of duty.
step sequencing the patterned controlled filterOrion has a step sequencer already. Ok, for instruments only right now, but in V8 using automation clips you can use it on mixer or fx too.

step sequencing the patterned controlled filterrichard, where is the step sequencer? when making my first complete skin i saw buttons for it, but couldn't find where it was so i didn't bother changing them.
step sequencing the patterned controlled filterok, i tried the steppers.
no 1 is a bit glitchy in terms of sound i found, but version 2 with simpler controls shows promise. listen to what it did with my simple 808 pattern: http://www.harddisco.co.uk/mp3/stepper_demo_file.wav a bit of distortion from red skull stomp box vst fx completes the sound - nice thanks kriminal. one thing i did see on stepper 2 was that if i tried adjusting the number of steps (up to 32 and back to 16) it didn't display the number of steps properly - to get 16 steps visible again i had to set to 17 and there was a gap at the end. don't think it affected the sound, just a visual bug. not expecting you to bugfix anyway, this is a free ride and i'm happy with what we got!
