i love orion's sample editor, i've never made my own multisamples before but orion makes it really easy.
just one small change would speed it right up - if you could select several samples at once (with standard shift / control keys) so that you could assign all the snares in your drum kit to e.g. output 2?
much quicker than having to select them all one by one and assign. great for panning changes too.
a very small thing to ask... but maybe one too many

a small change in assigning outputs in sample editorYou can do this already. But it's vis a vis the 'folder' and not the 'keyboard' icon per say. IE; if you have a lot of .WAV's or compatible samples in a folder - open OP's 'folder' on it's LCD screen. Here you can find and highlight all samples within your folder or area, and OP will instruct you if you'd like to 'detect pitch and map', 'don't detect and map like drum kit', and so forth.
The big drag though is Layering, and this is where your request would be most applicable. (And maybe that's what you were meaning?) Easy enough to make the first layer, but all subsequent layers has to be done one by one as you say. +1 for me definately.
