thanks mark, you are right, i am always trying to help others despite French is my native language.
so, my first word was "imho" which means In My Humble Opinion, because i could not imagine a faster way to associate samples to keys (i assume you were talking about multisample)
and secondly, a lot of user ignore the manual simply because it is the help file !
of course, you overreacted writing so long post instead of writing music !
i hope, next time, i will be more helpfull

An easier way to assign samples.i just read the work you want to do for the remix :
assuming you have enough memory, why would you need to set anything ? just load all the samples, choose the drum program, assign 1 key to each sample (second choice) et voila ! if you want to delete some unused sample after, there is an option too ! And if somebody else wishes other things would take priority, why shouldn't they be allowed to comment? The whole idea of a forum is to discuss things, not to issue edicts, be they wishes or otherwise. If you have a well thought-out idea, you should welcome the opportunity to convince people of it's merits. A discussion also gives Rich some idea how much appeal each idea has amongst the user-base. An easier way to assign samples.Interesting enough, just in thinking about the sampler in Orion, I decided to have another look at the Groove Slicer. I never thought about using it much for other than beats, but on another nuskool breaks project I am working on, someone sent me 8 synthloops they made in one file. I have to say that in this aspect, it has made my life a whole lot easier. I wish I had thought of it before I pulled up 8 audio tracks, but still, it will be easier to incorporate into the song now.
Cristoph, because, as I said, I usually pick one sound as I go. I don't normally have a case where I know every sample I want to use ahead of time so I can load them all at once. Bones, they should be allowed to comment. It was the comment about reading the manual that upset me. I got over it. So, I still think it would be easier to input by simply pushing a key on my keyboard, but I guess if you've never had that option, maybe it wouldn't make sense. Perhaps it's also because I spend WAYYYYY too much time on the puter and have wrist strain from the mouse, so anything I can do another way, I will. http://www.wrecklessmusic.net

An easier way to assign samples. There's also a lot of free and pay samplers that work well in Orion too.
Some are dead easy, and some are humongously complex. I like the fact OP's sampler is relatively easy, and relatively complex. It makes me think about what I'm commiting too, and if there's any other alternatives? If it's too easy, it's never too good in the end. People will always respect work. That's my theory at least. I thought I had implemented that already, maybe not... What kind of material do you need this for? I'm just asking because one of the various slicing and auto-assignment options is usually fastest. I never ever build programs manually, as it's a huge amount of work. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Hey Rich, sorry for the delay. Just been busy with my website lately. I do all types of material. Everything from breaks/jungle/hard house to rock/pop to ambient... just whatever. Like I say...it's just the way I work. I pick sounds as I go, not in advance. Things don't always sound right in a mix as well as they do in my head, and vice versa. http://www.wrecklessmusic.net

I think you're right too Rich. I believe it's hold down SHFT while in the highlighted Lo Key, and press a note on the keyboard? And then repeat the step for High Key. I remember I laughed when you did this, as my big synth at the time was across the room from my computer. I'm so used to E2 and B6, or whereever I need the samples to be I just type them in now. But if Randys rig is close by, it could be worth giving it a shot.

Okay, I got my hopes up for a second there. No dice. I also tried CTRL and ALT and combinations thereof. http://www.wrecklessmusic.net

An easier way to assign samples.Hmmm. I'm sure Rich implemented it somehow way back? And are you sure if you just highlight say C0 and press a key on your keyboard - it doesn't change? I remember it was fairly easy at one point, though it was my set up that was so complicated. Unless the feature got nixed later on in upgrades and such? If so, I highly agree it should be reinstated.
