midiIt's been awhile since I imported .MID, so I was just speculating there Ed. But indeed is a drag then if it's capped at 1100. But for my old SY and EX .MID files, I was able to port them over a channel at a time to selected generators and that worked well. Had to fool with Channel settings and repasting after the imports - but all was there, and all did eventually work.

First time I mentioned that and I don't know about exporting MIDI files (kind of a reason why I didn't mention) SoundCloud ::: Facebook

we're talking about 2 different things Steve..lol, the midi question and the visualizing notes are 2 different questions. one more time -I have a 5000step keyboard track, I can only see up to 1100 of those steps in 1 one window before I have to scroll, its painful to try and scroll while lassoing the rest of the notes to 5000. just let me zoom out so I can see the 5000 step pattern in one window..OR have a select all notes in pattern. -I have a 5 track song, I only want to export 1 of the tracks to a midi "file"..I either get all the tracks or 1 pattern...have an export track to midi file. midiOne of your questions has already been answered. You do not need to select all of the notes. There is no need to lasso all of the notes to move them, or export them, or copy them, or invert them, etc. If you select no notes at all and use your arrow keys, you will see that.
If you want to export a full track as a MIDI pattern you must first turn the full track into a single pattern. Highlight all patterns and hit "Z" for merge. Now you have a single pattern the length of the track. To avoid having the merged pattern replace your patterns, copy/drag them past the end of the song before merging. -7zark7
midiOr delete the tracks you don't want and export the one you want with "Export Song to MIDI File" (and don't save the song).

yes I have, my apologies, I never thought of the merge pattern function, just to be straight here, I slide the original patterns completely out of the way in the track so they don't get overwritten?
midiNO NO NO
you just select the patterns in the Playlist, and merge...all those patterns become 1 pattern (place in nearest empty pattern) your original patterns are NOT overwritten... try on some random patterns in a new project to test if you want... midiThe patterns are not overwritten. That is true. But, the pattern layout is. If you want to change things around in the track later, it is easier to copy/drag them to the right and then merge. This way your pattern layout will stay the same and your new merged pattern will be after the others in the playlist.
