playlist foldersit's not just about visuals.. it's also about being able to interact with the group as a unit, such as mute and solo.

nothing im interested in tho, so carry on. Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

playlist foldersGreat mock-ups -intro-one-, now Rich just has to write a few lines of code and it´s done!

if its that easy, why dont you write the code and send it to Rich, then he can concentrate on the other 2 million user requests he is dealing with Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

playlist foldersFolers have to be implemented anyway. You just can't mix dozens of ATs with dozens of generators. It's a bloody mess noone is able to handle anymore. With a huge project, you might end up with 30, 40 thingies on the Playlist. Rich already saw this point and I think he is thinking about something like a group function.

playlist foldersYes, folders are quite necessary if AT comes to the release.
2-4 automations for only one generator is not a rare thing, but with folding and folder tracks they are visually nicely connected and also hideable when works are done with them, and only their generator track is visible.

i didnt realise you'd taken over Synapse.

If Richard allows me access to some of codes, I can do that
playlist foldersIn fact no "Folders", but "Groups" - that sounds better
Those groups would not be so easy to do as the images I have done, but it is possible, but Richard, how hard it could be? Last edited by Marcin on Mon Mar 02, 2009 4:52 pm, edited 1 time in total.
playlist foldersLooks like a nightmare to me? Not sure if it's too much for too little, or vice versa?
'From the Cubase 5 manual...' - isn't that like a senator reading from the communist manifesto as an amendment to the constitution on Capitol Hill? Seen this go down in Tianemen Square... Lead them on and let the statue go up, and then tell them all to go home. My best advice, move to Hong Kong now.

its not always a case of 'how hard is it to do' its just another thing on the long list of 'i wants' Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

@Krim - I know, this list could be very large, I know. But I think Groups in Playlist would really help to better Organize work with Playlist. I think even that there is already very good codes to do that, becouse You can expand some modules to few more tracks and those tracks are already grouped. So those codes could be expanded just to "Groups". Yes, working without that feature is possible, but if You have 3 modules and 2 ATs per module - that is 9 tracks visible on Playlist + for example 4 ATs on Master - and that is 13 tracks (and rest of tracks or few even expanded?). So ... Groups will make much easier to arragement patterns on Playlist. For example - good view of pattern to see notes and note's velocities is (min.) 35 pixels of Track's height on Playlist. For example, my screen has 1050 pixels of Height - that is about 25 Tracks max (in full screen and without taskbar). So when I want to see Tracks higher (+vertical zoom in) that makes 47 pixels of Track's height - that is 19 Tracks visible at once. So ... The groups would be really useful and Organization would be very improved - that is just my opinion. In fact in good song there is possible to get 30 or 40 tracks (with modules, with ATs, expanded track in few of them). Last edited by Marcin on Mon Mar 02, 2009 6:05 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Hmm, I took a course in C++ a few years ago, maybe I should give it a try. How hard could it be? :p
playlist folders
Bah... I thought it was a clear definition of folder tracks, that´s all.
