Richard. Can You implement saving Colors Palette by default?
I don't mean save as file or etc. but only for base 16 colours in non-standard colours.
When I add few custom colours and then reopen an Orion the colours are missed.
Do You know what I mean?

Saving colours in palettes for Track Color+10000000000 !!!! Every time I load up a new playlist channel it comes up that horrible avocado green.
Saving colours in palettes for Track ColorRich is just calling the standard Windoze colour selector thing and it is krap. It works slightly better in Vista, it at least remembers them during a session. To change it woudl mean that Rich would have to write his own colour selector from scratch, which is hardly warranted in an audio application.

During a session on Vista? Same difference, every reopen Orion = reset palette.
Are You sure bones? Colours for standard Color palette is just an array of 16 DWORDs (0x00bbggrr), possible to set in Palette, so it is same simply possible to to get and save eg. in registry and load on Orion's start. Isn't it "lpCustColors" in CHOOSECOLOR Structure? Last edited by Marcin on Wed Mar 04, 2009 1:01 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Saving colours in palettes for Track ColorIt's possible (a little ugly though due to the fixed number of custom colors). I'll add it to the beta.

Saving colours in palettes for Track Colorfor(int i=0; i<16; i++) ... is it too ugly? Maby yes due to the fixed number of colors, but ... it is ok and much better than nothing

Great news! A custom color palette will be most welcome. No more avocado green.

I would not want a fixed number of colours. I like to use different shades of the same colour for different instances of the same instrument and every instrument I use has a standard colour. e.g. Drums are shades of grey, Sampler are shades of dark green, Wasps are shades of dark red, Scorpions are shades of bright red, PD Killers are day-glow yellow/green, etc. So over the course of 10 songs I might need dozen or so different colours, with up to 4 shades of any one colour, so that's 48 colours minimum, with fairly specific needs. I'd much rather put up with the inconvenience of the current system than be shackled by fixed colours of someone else's choosing.
Except that Rich is the guy who chose avocado green in the first place, so if he chooses the colours, expect more of the same. My first one is always blue. Dell G7 (Hexa-Core i7)|Cubase Pro 10||Analog Keys|Ultranova|MicroMonsta|Uno|Skulpt|Craft Synth 2.0|

If you used templates you wouldn't have this problem in the first place, since you would just put the colors there, ie have a WASP always open as dark red etc. Templates also solve many other customization issues that have been brought up in the past more than once: "I want the DrumRack to open with 32 steps default not 16" "I want the WASP to open with full polyphony not just 6 voices" "I want my 16-channel Drum VSTi to open with just 8 channels & specific channel settings" ... and many others. Really? I can load three playlist lanes in a row and they will all be avocado green.
Saving colours in palettes for Track Color
Sounds great to me. So using templates you could have an instrument load up in the playlist with any color you want each time? Excellent.
Saving colours in palettes for Track ColorI just added four instruments and got:
Sampler - sky blue Wasp - horrible red Sampler - pink Screamer - avocado green
Mebbe, but I'd need multiple templates for the different shades of colour. e.g. Wasp1, Wasp2, Wasp3, Wasp4, Scorpion1, Scorpion2, Scorpion 3, DrumsMain, DrumsVOX, SamplerStrings, Sampler2, Sampler3, etc, etc. So I could spend ages creating templates for every contingency or just do it as it comes up. I can't see an advantage either way, really.
Yeah but I think you'll agree that all it will do is show people that no matter what the default is, they will often need to change it. Of course, multiple templates will make that easier too, much easier in fact, but it will mean a whole extra layer of effort to keep your templates organised. Will they work in nested folders like presets do? Dell G7 (Hexa-Core i7)|Cubase Pro 10||Analog Keys|Ultranova|MicroMonsta|Uno|Skulpt|Craft Synth 2.0|

Saving colours in palettes for Track Color
Just loaded up 4 third party vsti's and got avocado green on all four. Loaded up wasp,monobass,toxic3 and screamer and got blue, gray, and two avocado greens. So 6 out of 8 green. I don't know how but Orion knows I hate that color so it gives it to me constantly It only takes a few seconds to change a color but if you want to use custom colors and have to set the RGB values each time I can see where templates could be very useful. I usually just color each group. Drums are orange, Bass blue, synths red etc.
