Input on Skins RequiredModerators: Christophe, Mark Input on Skins RequiredPersonally I like the first iteration. The modelling comes through more and gives it a certain look. Looking forward to more bits and bobs.
Input on Skins Requiredhm have to revise my opinion after having looked at the 'fixed' former design without blur again, and comparing them side by side. It prolly has more potential than the new one.

Input on Skins RequiredYeah, I prefer the more complicated knob and the rest of it, too. At least everything is lined up properly in this one. There is both direct and indirect lighting in this one, which has good and results. This one certainly doesn't look like you'd call it "Polar" or "Snow", that's for sure. I can fit the whole of "Insert" in if I use a small LED but I have an idea or two about that, so stay tuned. I am really only concentrating on the lighting and the knob at the moment, the rest is only there to provide context.

Input on Skins RequiredI've got to say I like the first version posted on page 4 MUCH better. The new knobs posted above look too much like the current knobs and lose that hardware appeal in my opinion. I also preferred the neutral gray to the blue color. I think it would be nice to have lighter and darker versions but I'd use a skin that follows the style in your first post with great pleasure.
Input on Skins RequiredI like the earlier version as well. The one on this page doesn't look bad, it just looks somehow a little bit generic IMO.
Input on Skins RequiredI don't see red properly (One on the 8% french daltoniens ^^), so the blur version is painfull for my eyes. However I don't need some handicaped friendly skin with big black and white knobs

Input on Skins RequiredAnd I have a problem with white text if it is not clearly defined.
I also like the first version, but it looks to flat in my opinion, the knobs don't stand out from the background enough (shadows needed?) The new one you did is much more solid and real in my opinion. Vaz,PolyAna,Knagalis,Sytrus,Wusik4,Golden Asset,

Input on Skins RequiredI'm with the rest on this. The first one.
Input on Skins Required+1
Input on Skins RequiredI think there are elements we c an use form all of them but I agree that the first one has the right feel overall. With the newer font and slightly bigger knobs, it will probably be the way forward.
What's the consensus on width? I think the elements are well enough spread in this but a couple of people on the beta would like to see them a little wider. What I am thinking of doing is providing one with an extra 10 pixels down each side, without relocating any of the elements. The only practical change would be wider labels for the channel and Inserts and more space between channels to help define them. It would require bugger-all extra work but would give people a choice. But I think the narrow one should be the default, with the wider one as an alternate. Input on Skins RequiredIt would be nice if somehow it could work that you can widen the strip you're working with while the others stay narrow. If not I agree with narrow default

+1 for this one and 10 pixels more down each side sounds perfect.
Input on Skins RequiredThat will make it exactly the same width as the current strip. It seems stupid to me because it will literally be 20 more dead pixels between each strip, on top of the 6 or so that are there already. That's almost one-third of the width performing no function, except for separating simple groups of parameters.

Input on Skins RequiredOk -1 for the 10 pixels down each side. It was another chap's idea.
