Global Record like Live.

I'm not sure if you can do this already, but my feature request is a 'global record' feature, where I can basically record different takes of my songs, by playing patterns in different orders in real time.

Much like how Live does it.

interesting concept. i have often wanted to have different takes of my song. for that you would need multiple song playlists. currently there is only one.

the workaround is to build patterns and create different song sequences in the playlist. however makes a mess with automations.

yeah, ultimately I'd love to have all my tracks inside 1 Orion song file and be able to just trigger and build songs out of patterns live.

I could just go out an buy Ableton Live, but I think it may be a cool feature for Orion especially since clips in live and patterns in Orion are a pretty similar concept.

it is possible to record patern in to the playlist since version 5.0
- Live Recording of pattern changes now possible.

You can achieve exactly the same result using Live Sets and the F11 feature to write all current patterns to the Playlist.

Live sets are a simple way of setting up a bunch of patterns to play together. Simply set all your patterns and press any of the numeric key-pads 1-9 to move to the next set, then repeat the process. Once you have patterns stored in a live set, you can recall them by pressing the same number key again. AFAIK, live sets are stored with the song, so you can set things up for a gig in advance if you want to use them live.

OR
chuck a Voxengo recorder (or one of the other myriad recorders available for nothing) on your master channel.
Change patterns and tweak on the fly as much as you wanna, then stop the recorder.
Then do it again.
and again
and again
