Inspire meor this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcIOR_evklw I feel totally unsinpired many times, and think I want to quit music, but that's just the bullshit trying to catch up with me. Best thing I saw recently was John Fleming 007 in the Computer Music interview, saying how he oftten times thought what he was doing was shit, and how he thought he should quit music altogether.
Inspire meok, sorry to post so much, but.............. there is that time, when you think everything you write is shit...... and it would be nice to know that everyone feels that way at some point..... and we all do, but no one talks about it.
Inspire meI think it is very common. I take breaks every now and then, when insperation is dead.
This is one of those things which gives me insperation. http://www.vimeo.com/6845606
Inspire meCreativity requires energy. Sometimes the flow is strong. Sometimes it's just better to let the batteries recharge.
Inspire meDon't sweat it YDM. I was going to quit music, and didn't do anything for 3 years - then I suddenly released a solo CD. That was going to be it. First and last for the new millenium. Then I did another, and another... And another. Like Fiona Apple said 'When you made the music you wanted to make, and say what you wanted to say. You shouldn't be forced to put out bullshit just to prove you're alive still'.
It happens when it should happen. Play some video games, get into some dangerous sex, give crack a whirl. Whatever doesn't take you will make a great story to tell.
Inspire meStop listening to all music for a week or two, make words lists, go for walks, buy a cookbook and fix meals at random.
Inspire methx for the advice guys, i will take it to heart and just let myself go with the flow for a while
Inspire mebtw, dont apologise for posting much Icaro, i appreciate it.

Inspire meUmmmm I think your priorities are a bit off there my friend.
Inspire meNaw, YDM's got it right on track. Have as much fun as you can YDM, and put music out of your mind. V/M makes a good point as well. I also find going to new sources is inspirational. Stay away from the stereo, the iPod, MTV and what all. Pick up a cheap shortwave, scan the FM dial for local college radio, Watch CMT, go with your girl to a nice piano bar where some saps singing Copacabana for the eighteen thousandth time. Learn to enjoy that stuff, and make yourgirlfriend as sore as you possibly can (in the best way possible I mean) THEN - go back to try some music.
Inspire meI just remembered something one of my old music teachers told me. Pull the covers up over your head, or sit in a closet with the door closed, and try listening to the sound of your own blood rushing through your veins.
oh, and no, he didn't get the idea from Suzane Vega.
