sync with psp and other hand heldsI been using your program for more then 10 years. and technology has been advancing. And beat making is a growing trade. expecially for expired producer like myself. I am a hip hop producer and orion platinum is the first program i started with and the my main program. I am so used to using this program that when i try using other programs, its just not the same. So i really enjoy making beats with orion platinum because its what im used too. but my biggest problem is im not alway able to bring a laptop with me. like when i am in school or at work and a beat pops up in my head. I have to wait till i get home to try and put it in the pc. Most of the time i get home and forget the whole thing. Im just like dammit. I had pocket pcs and I have a psp. Im not sure if a pocket pc can handle beat making. but i know a psp can. And i carry my psp everywhere I go. More since i found out that you can make beats on it with beatarator , traxxpad and rhythm. I can whip that out of my pocket but they just missing some thing i am used to using in orion platinum. Please Make a small program for my psp custom firm. Ill even buy a ds. Please Make program for psp thanks in advance.

Most funny post since 1837. Dude, this will not happen. If you need to keep your ideas in mind, use your voice and record it to your cellphone with some additional information to make sure you will remember correctly. Last edited by DaZoid on Thu Nov 19, 2009 1:32 pm, edited 1 time in total.
sync with psp and other hand heldsI guess you are using it as a scetch pad. What about exporting the beats you make to your PC, and load them as samples in the Orion sampler or a third party sampler. I know it would not be the same thing as a seamless platform independent interface. But I have seen no indication that this is a route Synapse are going to take. So that leaves the other options.
In other words. Use your PSP as a scetch-pad and export the loops in wav or mp3 if possible. Or if you have a small line out, plug that in your soundcard to record your beats as you play them in a wave-recorder like Audacity.
sync with psp and other hand heldsWasn't it Yamaha or Roland that had a 'palm pilot' many moons ago? (early-mid 90's?) It was like a little GM hand held sequencer, but you could program beats and all with stylus pen or something? And you'd hook it up to your PC (or Atari?) and export the .MID to it and carry on.
I just find it ironic that a laptop or PC is like a thousand dollar deck of cards and notepad now. And a $300 X-Box or PSP is like the 'do all, see all' brain of the household now. Very odd.

haha are you doing that too i thougth i was the only one :p Did You Know you can download my albums on 1albums.com and you can promote your own there to

sync with psp and other hand helds@DS: Yamaha have the QY series of 'mini'-sequencers (video cassette-sized), whereas Roland have the PMA-5, which is what I think you're thinking of.
@matthy: Me too. Also, I was at the market the other day and heard a ridiculously good bass line pumping away from one of the stalls selling reggae music of all things! Whipped out the phone and recorded it for bastardisation in a new track.
sync with psp and other hand heldsThanks Mark, the PMA-5 is exactly what I was thinking of. And actually SoundQuest has a decent editor for it, which I think goes beyond PSP.
http://www.squest.com/Windows/Instrumen ... index.html Well ahead of it's time.... Mind you, the QY's were pretty smart from Yamaha as well. Tried to convince a mate to get that QY200 'Studio', but he went with a PSR 'cause it was easier'. And then I had to learn it too. Never trust a instrument with a speakers built in.

Indeed. I'm actually thinking of getting a PMA-5 for the train journeys that I have to do all to often, but maybe I should become a real cock and get myself an iPrick.
sync with psp and other hand heldsI tried that I even used my cellphones and pocket pc recorder to make the beat it just sound way different from when i first came up with it.
The pma looks cool and all but i dont plan on carrying to many gadget all do. I work at the air port where they make me remove all my stuff to go through the check point and taking all my stuff off everyday is ANNNNOYYINNGG. The psp is portable with more visuals and graphics with a speaker which is cool too. I believe if rhythm beatarator traxxpad and psp drum x can do why not something like orion do something simular. Like make a small program for portable. I know when it come to vst that would be complicated. But how about tha same program with out vsts but a bunch a sample. And make it someway i can make a pattern then upload and convert to my pc. I could go with the current psp program but they suck compared to this. Rhythm for psp.................................................................... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DulYUbbTrSc Beaterator for psp .................................................................... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpsrhpVp3a4 Traxxpad for psp ............................................................... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2yplP0FlUY Pxdrum ........................................................................... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRxPu0FWqgQ This could happen if someone over there and synaspe give it some thought to try. sync with psp and other hand heldsWell, here's the main reason I think it's not going to happen.
Not enough time and resources. That's why. Time is everything. Every moment spent on making this portable Playstation version is a moment less working on something that needs to be done in Orion, and is equally every moment of delay for releasing Orion 8, which you'll agree earns for the Synapse. As for the resources part, not enough man power to port it and keep them all updated, which again bring to the slowing of the Orion's further developments. It would go away just like Pro did... right into the void. Last edited by HYPNAGOGIA on Fri Nov 20, 2009 5:01 am, edited 1 time in total.

sync with psp and other hand heldswell I think it would be a great idea. It would make it more convenient . If people knew how easy and good orion is people wouldn't be so glued to fl. no program has this and it could be a good add on feature. and u can still work to make 8 at the same time. there are people out there some where like me sitting some where making music right now. they maybe sitting on the computer making music with the psp on desk charging maybe. or making music on there psp trying emulate the beat they made to pc. if orion did this and people knew about this, synaspe could get more people to people to use this program. and convince more people to buy it as well.

sync with psp and other hand heldsA PSP is a toy (admittedly a good one). The pics you posted look like toy programs. Do you really think that Richard, who is trying really hard to compete with other proper DAW coders, will waste time making a toy version of a top notch program for a toy? Don't get me wrong. I know where you're coming from. I have a PDA and would love something like Orion for it (there is a program called Griff that isn't too far off), but there would be something essentially toy-like about it and not worth Richard's time when he's got bigger fish to fight.
sync with psp and other hand heldsHotrdenhell, let me try to explain it the easy way... seems a math-ish approach works every time... here it goes:
Time it take for Rich to port Orion to Playstation platform = less time to work on the main Orion = more delay in releasing the next version = less features for Orion = less money for Rich which he can use for further development. And also take into account the percentage of people who would use Orion on a PSP, it is just not worth the time. Hope it's a little clearer now, even if you do think it would be a good idea, it just isn't worth the trouble. In case you wonder why, go back to the beginning of this post. SoundCloud ::: Facebook

Yes. And when your in town, people are looking at you, the crazy guy, that makes strange noises and holds his cell phone in front of his mouth :biglol:
sync with psp and other hand heldsOk mark the main reason why those programs currently on psp looks like toy programs is because the writer design the program to have a fun interface look. They still beat makers and if the writer wanted to go for the more professional interface then i am sure he could have some how did that.
And hyper i understand that it may not be worth his time to create a psp edition but let say what if it is? He would get more publicity. No other program has did this yet so far. But the way to having a good product that would win against competitors is to have a product that does something that competing products do not do. This would be a good key feature that no other program have and would be very useful. I asked a lot of people i work with and do my projects with. about how this idea sound to them. I am the only one who in my area who uses this program while everyone uses fruity loops. They agreed this would be real good. Now he can be saying no to the idea while fruity loops turn out to say yes. That would give more people the reason to use fruity loops. This is on my wish list and someone else wish list as well.rich should consider. And orion platinum is to me a perfectly good program. but more features is always nice. Jeffery Harris
