I just asked on another thread if there was a way to clear all events easily.. the response from bones was an incredibly wordy 'No.'
Therefore I'd like to see a way.. instead of having to manually go through mixer channels, bus channels, sends, vsts, and effects... to just have an option to 'clear all events' and it would clean the song of all events. Perhaps also have a way to clear the bus only.. or clear the sends.. song parts can get screwed up.. and it would be easier to keep the instruments, effects, static volume levels and clear the events than to start from scratch with an entirely new song.

clear all eventsyes clear all events should be there.....no arguments, no brainer. i dont understand why it is not already there. its not a big programming effort and its not a workflow obstruction feature either
clear all eventsnobody that's not familiar with the code should estimate the effort required to modify it.
clear all eventsYes, this would be helpful sometimes and I think people already asked for it.
It's somehow like a feature which I would like to see and I think which comes with 8.0 -> Clear all MIDI linkage between a song and MIDI hardware.
clear all eventsIt's not a clear all, it's a list of all links, so you can pick and choose which ones to eliminate.

clear all eventsHate to say the word, but what about something like a 'freeze' that holds and plays all EVT's at their start point? Preferably per strip/generator. It just seems too drastic to have a 'clear ALL' I can usually pinpoint if the guitar sounds wonky or the 303 filter should be up instead of down.
But all events to be wiped out in one go? That seems really harsh. A lot of work goes into those with controller moves and snap lines.
clear all eventsDon't worry D/S, it won't feel a thing.. so we can be harsh to the song.
If we are going to be able to pick and chose which ones to eliminate then it WOULD be easy to have a clear all.. either way.. as long as its down to a modicum of clicks/time then I'm for it.
clear all eventstrue, but there is no harm in giving a avg case estimation. i am a coder as in its my bread and butter. just like when you compose music you listen to certain sounds and can estimate how to create a particular sound, so as a coder it comes naturally to me to think in this way. also see the other clear all events
clear all eventsIm really for the clear all events, or at least to get an overview list of all modules/knobs that is being automated so you can clear it when it has been screwed up when you moved all the patterns.
clear all eventsSounds almost like a folklore saying... 'Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, blame OP.' Moving patterns, the events are mostly salvagable with the <-> option. And for the few times where I actually moved pattens 'in' as opposed to 'out', again with some fancy surgery on the first measure of events using snap line, erase, and <-> event's can still be moved in as well. I'd still say Cut/Copy/Paste selected EVT segments could do wonders over Clear All. Though Clear All as a total chalkboard eraser does have it's merit as a 'final soulution' at the utmost.
But I agree, some kind of moderate idenitfier to signal something is under automation control would be nice. A minute pink triangle that appears on a Volume fader, above a insert light, on a VST header upper left, etc. Just to give a heads up on a quick glance, I could go for that indeed. clear all eventsMaybe something like we have listing all generators and effects, but for automations, stating the "module - control".
And I think both could use "Delete All" button, or at least allowing multiple selections in the list. Last edited by HYPNAGOGIA on Tue Mar 23, 2010 6:37 am, edited 1 time in total.
