when record audion in orion!!!!!!!!everybody knows when we record a audio in to orion, we can view the audio track when finish the record later, then see the wave image, so I think why it dosen't work as like nuendo or samplitude ......
so I hope V8 can make it well thanx I'm blacker, tibetan blacker.

when record audion in orion!!!!!!!!Not sure what you mean Blacker? To see the wave image 'as it records' you mean? Not sure if that's of any value? As long as you have the fader and input adjusted well and not distorting or 'in the red', you're fine. I know watching wave data during recording really distracts me from actually listening to or playing the music. So I'd much rather have it 'off' myself.
Might also add to CPU and graphc problems if using a lot of VST's and such with moving parts AND try to represent wave data on the fly? Or maybe I'm missing what you're requesting?
when record audion in orion!!!!!!!!What exactly do you mean?
I see the audio track (with "wave image" in it) in the playlist when I import it, which would be the same as if I recorded it. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
when record audion in orion!!!!!!!!Yeah, I'm not sure about nuendo and samplitude. I know with ProTools in a studio I was watching the screen and the waveform data being drawn in almost 'realtime' and thought 'what a perfect production tool. Looks to me like a great track fellas!' And on playback later looking at the sofa - it was a sloppy track that really had to be redone. Wave image is only helpful AFTER the track IMHO.
Unless Blacker or someone can prove otherwise?
when record audion in orion!!!!!!!!I think i got what he says. When you have a visual aproach on recording you know somewhat where you are on the timeline of the track and know when you have to stop or something.

when record audion in orion!!!!!!!!Again, ears and placement should be enough for anyone with any music apptitude. A bugger with my last song I put up, as I stuck a break in before the second chorus and kept missing it. But on a few run throughs and bogus tracks later, I finally got it. Now were I to have visual indication - yes, it would probably alert me better... But would probably mess up my playing as I'd be so watchful on the screen.
Personally, I think it does more harm than good for a performer or producer. Play the whole song as best you can. Or cue up to the 3rd chorus or so and record to another audio track and fuse together later. (Man, sound like old tape days. )

Sorry, I mean is that when it is able to monitor the waveform recording,I mean, real-time monitoring the waveform on song playlist. so u know my eglish always make a mistake, sorry again. I'm blacker, tibetan blacker.

when record audion in orion!!!!!!!!No need to apoligice blacker. I think we understand what you mean now.
when record audion in orion!!!!!!!!Yes Blacker, that's my understanding too. You're english is very good then. Like I said, as cool as it looks to see the waveform develop on screen as you record, I find it very distracting. Maybe helpful if dealing with a very velocity sensitive instrument, and making sure there's no heavy spikes in the take. But the rule there would be to do a rough check BEFORE recording. IE; arm piano channel, and play softly, medium, and pound the keys heavily and adjust the meter for a comfertable fit for all velocities.
For me, I'd rather fix a few spikes after recording, than keep monitoring and killing a take every time the first one happens. Visual monitoring maybe good for a engineer to make notes during a take... But I don't think OP will be in that type of enviroment anytime soon. Maybe I'm wrong?
when record audion in orion!!!!!!!!Why? What possible use could it serve, other than to take up valuable resources that might cause a glitch in your recording?

when record audion in orion!!!!!!!!My thinking as well Bones. Okay for mulitrack audio recording like ProTools (even then I can do without it.) But with all the VST's and meters going on in OP at times - I think a accurate waveform draw would really stress resources after awhile.
when record audion in orion!!!!!!!!agree with ur idea,Dungeon Studio~

when record audion in orion!!!!!!!!I think too, there's VST's that show waveforms - if one really needs it. More so in the 'oscilliscope' variety. I like and use this on ocassion, and you may find it useful too Blacker. But definately something I don't leave in OP when I've adjusted the sound.
http://bram.smartelectronix.com/plugins.php?id=4 Sorry, almost forgot about that one.
when record audion in orion!!!!!!!!hum.hum. GOOD VST ! It's helpful.I can have a try ~

when record audion in orion!!!!!!!!I should probably get back to using it as well, as I'm called in for some new projects now with dance music. The scopes are a little better than OP's meter's when it comes to really low basses I find. What might not register on the meter's could be seen as this HUGE wave in the oscilliscope/wave display. Helps get a better balance of synth/sampler volume and channel and effect sends I find.
