It seems you don't actually read my posts: the instruments aren't loosing their mixerstrip, they have their mixerstrip on the sub-mixer. It is (could be) exactly the same as it is now... but on a sub-mixer.

The clutter is not different from having many generators and/or effects open and still nobody sees that as a problem. Because you can minimize/hide what you are not working on. And the whole point of a sub-mix is to be able to focus on that sub-mix. No use in having several sub-mixers open at the same time. The point is that (in the way I described in my last post) it will work EXACTLY like Orion is working now; nothing to learn, no changes to current workflows, it would be completely transparent for current users (and new ones as well).
Mind you that I'm actually used to work this way (in Reaper) with the only difference being that a 'sub-mixer' in Reaper is part of the main mixer and I can simply show/hide the sub-channels 'below' the main-strip for that sub-mix group (like you would hide/minimize the sub-mixer in Orion). The fact that the sub-channels are in fact full channelstrips that are actually bussing into their main strip which is also again a full mixerstrip, IS what makes it so useful.
