Hey All,
Just though I'd start some brainstorming for a way to manage live sets. At he moment we have to use the Numberpad 1-9 but I think there is room for improvment.
I bought Fxpansion Geist a while back and its Scenes mode really stood out as something that would work well for Orion. Geist is very similar to Orion, pattern based sequencing (focused on drums tho) Here's a screenshot:
Image looks like its a little too big but anyway; each drumpad is one live set (scene in Geist) on the right had side you have a list of the patterns that will be played when the live set is triggered, you can go in and change the patters that will be triggered. You can also select a Key for the live set so it then can be triggered via midi.
We already have the functioanlity for live sets, so in theory the next step for extending it is some kind of manager.
Thoughts?

Re: Live Mode ManagerA lot of work for not much result. It seems very contrived to me. Live sets are quick, easy and they just work.

Re: Live Mode ManagerAbsolutly, live sets are quick and they do work, but having a manager gives you a better overview of patterns attached to each of your live sets.
Most of the work already has been done if you think about it, the patterns that are attached to a live set are already stored somewhere; putting them into a manageable interface shouldn't be too much work. The midi triggering is where the work would be. Anyway just a feature I'd love to so sometime in the future.
Re: Live Mode Managerwhat about to extend scenes to the entire keyboard ?
9 scenes seems light ? Yamaha CS-30, Roland SH-1, Roland MKS70, Focusrite Scarlett 18i6, Yamaha FS1R, Oberheim Matrix 1000, Novation Remote 37SL, Korg Legacy, Alesis M1Active 520, Novation Launchpad Pro, Push2, Intel i7-7700HQ
Re: Live Mode ManagerFor sure, if you see how its done in Geist, you get the entire keyrange to create scenes.
Re: Live Mode ManagerI am a new user, and a pattern matrix like the one in Live or Sonar seems to be a good idea. The scenes/live sets defined in it could then be used to in a live performance or, another wish, used as building blocks on the play list.
Re: Live Mode ManagerAlternatively, something like Cubase Arranger track in the playlist would also do the trick, with different arranger parts/live sets clearly visualized (for easier song structure visualization and editing as well, think about left-clicking on the Arranger track to insert a whole set of patterns and change the set on the fly by dragging up/dn in the same way that patterns are entered/selected). The arranger parts/live sets can have a menu where one can set a trigger from midi or pc keyboard or a separate window showing them as a list, where one can trigger them in any sequence they want with the mouse.
Re: Live Mode ManagerWhere can I find the documentation about Live Sets? I cannot find it in the manual.
