DUNE 2's strange behaviour with a MIDI controller

Postby masa_uk_tokyo » Mon Nov 16, 2015 5:49 pm

Hi all,

I noticed when I change the MIDI mapping preset of my MIDI keyboard, DUNE 2 receives some kind of MIDI information, and changes DUNE 2's preset to one of the factory presets. It is a nightmare when this happens while creating a new sound...
Does anyone kindly advise me how to solve that problem? I only have this problem with DUNE 2 (vst, Ableton Live 9, Mac OS 10.10.5).

Thanks a lot,
Masa

Hey there

I can't remember off hand, but I think this type of thing occurs after midi learn has been used.
Right click a knob and select midi forget.
Not sure if this is the solution, let us know if it helps.

Peace, luv and aciiid.

Does Ableton have a Midi Monitor or is there a Midi Monitor plugin for the Mac ? You can see what midi data is being sent when you change presets on your controller. Which Midi Controller do you use ? Does changing presets always select the same factory preset on DUNE 2 ?

Anyway if you can provide more information it will be easier to figure out what's going on............ :)

Edit: I found this Midi Monitor for Mac:

http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/

Let us know what midi messages are being sent when you change mappings on your controller....

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I am not sure if there is any MIDI mappable knob for changing presets inside Dune 2.

It doesn't matter. If when you change presets on your Controller it is sending a Program Change Message to DUNE 2 that might be what's happening.

Anyway you haven't answered the questions I've asked and I've given you instructions on how to see what data your controller is sending. If you won't help us we can't help you..........
