Hello,
Goes without saying that Dune 3 is a superb & magnificent Synth.
The challenge when controlling parameters using a hardware Midi controller is the multi-layered nature of Dune.
With each layer having filter cutoff, resonance, envelopes etc, the parameter list is huge making it difficult to assign a hardware knob per parameter.
I would suggest implementing Midi control for the "ACTIVE" layer, rather than for each parameter individually.
So instead of needing 8 hardware knobs to control the 8 filter cutoffs of each layer, we'd need one hardware knob to control the filter of the current active layer. This would mimic the plugin's GUI itself.
Right now I am using Behringer's BCR 2000 which can utilize up-to 56 hardware knobs per MIDI channel, for 16 channels. So I get around by using 8 Midi channels and assigning knob one, channel 1 for filter cutoff of layer 1 etc. Still this can get really confusing.
I hope you consider this "Active Layer" approach to make tweaking parameters in different layers easier, especially for users who have hardware MIDI controller with a fewer number of knobs.
Thank you.

Re: Request: Dune 3 Midi Control UpdateThe immediate problem I see is that automation relies on the same system so if you restrict everything to just one layer, you will only be able to automate one layer and any automation you have recorded will be applied to whichever layer happens to be active.

Re: Request: Dune 3 Midi Control Update
Good point. I was looking at the situation from a sound design perspective and the need to tactically tweak parameters with hardware knobs rather than automating them. Perhaps it can be implemented as an option you could tick on or off. So when you're sound designing and tweaking you could check "Receive Midi for Active Layer" and when you're recording/playing back automation you'd uncheck it?
