What should and shouldn’t you do when composting your food?

It is a very healthy lifestyle to lead if you are recycling your food waste. It is even best if you are becoming a gardener. A dual-purpose action benefits your life and the surrounding environment. However, you might need to know some things before starting your recycling.

Not all kinds of food waste can become material for the composting process. Below, we recommend what you should and shouldn’t put into the composter. We have also found you the best products for your composting, which will also replace the traditional composting process.

1. What should you put into your composter?

5 best foods for composting:

  • Grass or leaves: when grass or leaves are green, they bring the best nutrients (including nitrogen) for your composting. In turn, nitrogen is vital for sustaining growing plants.
  • Tomatoes contain rich sources for the development of your plants. They will grow faster and sooner.
  • Coffee grounds increase plants’ ability to fight against diseases as well as provide a rich soil base for seeding plants.
  • Eggshells enrich the soil with calcium, which helps plants grow stronger.
  • Peanuts enhance the shape of your plants.
Mix up the food waste with your grass cuttings and leaves. It will help the aerating process and prevent your material from clumping inside the composter.

Dampen the composting pile, but never soak it in water.

If you want to add more food waste, remember to mix it with paper, grass, or leaves to avoid engaging gnawers.

2. What shouldn’t you put into your composter?

  • Do not add the following items into your composting process: coffee or tea bags, fish, meat, or dairy products. There are two main reasons why you should not compost them. First, they contain elements that are toxic to your plants or attracts the animals attacking your plants. Second, these elements are harmful to you in the long term.
  • Avoid using weeds because they include a lot of seeds which are not easily killed during the composting process.
  • Never use dog or cat poop. It is full of bacteria, viruses, and germs which are very harmful and proactive, even though the poop is totally broken down in the composter.

The current version of Studio One Pro is 5.2. Any reason you're not running the latest version? 4.1.3 was released in early 2019.

Three days later......Why do so many people here come to ask a question and then never check back for an answer or to see if anyone is trying to help ? :?
