It seems Dune 3.5 update can (could) wipe users presets folders and sound banks. Please warn people about this before they update. This happened to a customer of mine. It is a good idea to back up all sound banks before updating.

Re: PLEASE WARN USERS BEFORE UPDATING DUNE
Is it? I had to resend download links to a customer because the update lost all his sound banks. That is a fact. Now, I am not here to spread "false information". But if this is happening people should be aware of it and the developer should warn people to back up their presets before updating. Re: PLEASE WARN USERS BEFORE UPDATING DUNESo warning people to backup their presets before updating is false information??? OK whatever. I am not going to argue about it.

Re: PLEASE WARN USERS BEFORE UPDATING DUNE
Saying D3 deletes anything is false information, as you well know. Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: PLEASE WARN USERS BEFORE UPDATING DUNE Backup your preseOur installers do not delete anything - there is simply no need to do that (each update contains more files than the previous version, not less- for example additional presets or skin files). Besides during testing, we (re-)install many times and so do beta testers. And we have plenty of soundsets installed so we would notice.
Anyway if you can get more info from the user (esp. system specs, what steps he took exactly, etc) then please post it here, pm it to us, or alternatively ask the user to get in touch with us. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Re: Preset backup required before DUNE 3.5 installation? This is probably the same issue discussed on KVR, if so it has been solved: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopi ... 2#p8264482
Re: Preset backup required before DUNE 3.5 installation? My presets are gone too. I only had two or three saved on this computer though. I have them backed on several places so I'm good. Just a heads up.
Re: Preset backup required before DUNE 3.5 installation? Were these presets your own named and stored in the Soundbanks, or stored under existing factory patches?
Re: Preset backup required before DUNE 3.5 installation?dont remember, in user, named bs- nord
Re: Preset backup required before DUNE 3.5 installation? Is this Windows or OS X?
Under Windows, you can specify the data directory during installation, which also defines the location for all Soundbanks. If this data directory is changed to a different place than it was before, patches from the old directory will not shop up. Of course they can easily be transferred manually then.
