Hi,
I just bought two soundsets for Dune3 on a Win 10 machine, but they refuse to get installed with an error message telling me that "there is no NKS file" in a certain "Downloads" directory. But the given location is not the same as where the Dune3 installer put its files, as it is in a folder under "Desktop". There is no browsing button in the soundsets insstaller for directing it to the location under "Desktop" where the instrument files are.
So now, how to fix this? Shall I move all the installed Dune3 files from the Documents folder into the Downloads folder or should I move the soundsets installer from the Downloads folder into the Desctops folder? (I tried that but the soundsets installer was still unable to find the NKS file"

Re: Purchased soundset refuses to installI got to answer myself here as I found out that I could import a Zip archive directly into the synth GUI. So I did that and the two new expansion patches now show up under the soundbank category "Dune 3 soundsets". There doesn't seem to be a way to see which expansion a patch belongs to, but the tagging is still ok. I'm fine with that though. Love the sound of the synth!
Re: Purchased soundset refuses to installThe NKS files are part of the downloaded ZIP file. The installer copies them into the Synapse Audio/DUNE 3/NKS folder if a compatible NI product is installed, if not they will be skipped. If the ZIP file is extracted to some temporary directory & the installer is launched afterwards, it should find the NKS files. So I'm not sure why you get this error message, don't remember ever having seen it.
So yes using the ZIP import from within DUNE 3 is an alternative. Another way is to simply open the ZIP, then drag+drop the contents of the FXP folder into DUNE 3/Soundbanks folder. This should be completely fail-safe Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Re: Purchased soundset refuses to installThanks, Richard. I bought a third expansion today and this time the installation worked as expected. And Dune3 now displays all three expansions under the appropriate headline. Great! It is so much more fun to work that way, rather than having all expansions mashed into one group.
