Sampler QuestionI wasn't sure where to ask this, but I love the sampler in Orion and I was wondering if there is any simple sampler vsts that work like it does (paid or free). Most importantly, I like the way it can recreate loops in the piano roll. Been attempting to learn Reaper and this has been missing from my work flow so much that I keep going back to Orion.
Re: Sampler QuestionI haven't used Orion's sampler in ages but if you can tell us what you love about it maybe it will help us give recommendations.
Here's a free one, although it might be overkill. https://www.tx16wx.com/
Re: Sampler Question
I assume he means the slicer, for drum loops Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Sampler Question
I've seen it, but i can't find it now. Not sure if it had a diff name, or if the features were the same. Might be worth looking out for, but prob 32bit only. Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Sampler QuestionOk if he's looking for a Loop Slicer here's one and it's on sale. Also comes with a lot of content. "Initial Slice is a loop slicer and beat making plugin":

Re: Sampler QuestionHe hasn't even been back to check for an answer..........
Re: Sampler QuestionSAM-SPL 64 is an audio plugin which lets you easily split a sample in up to 64 slices. It is compatible with any DAW supporting VST2, VST3 or Audio Unit format.
Main Features - 2 play modes: hold or trigger - Play a single slice at a time or multiple (polyphonic) - Each slice can be set to loop and/or play in reverse - Edit the sample (Trim, Cut, Crop, Normalize (0dB, -3dB, -6dB), Resample) - Continuous smooth zoom all the way to the sample level - Show zero crossing - Load a sample from the file system or directly sample an input (built-in sampler) - Drag and drop a sample in the waveform view - Export the sample as a file (wav / aiff supported) - VST2, VST3 or Audio Unit compatible free: https://pongasoft.com/vst/SAM-SPL64.html
Re: Sampler Question
I'm back...looking into the suggestions, thanks.
Re: Sampler QuestionDo any of those automatically reproduce the loop in the piano roll after it's sliced?
Prob not, so even a vst version of the Sampler would be insufficient, as that is a feature of Orion (each generator having its own patterns) Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Sampler QuestionSlicex does but of course only in FL Studio.
So I guess the answer to the OP's question "I was wondering if there is any simple sampler vsts that work like it does (paid or free)" is no or maybe. I don't slice loops so wouldn't know. He's just going to have to try out all the suggestions and see if they're what he's looking for.
