TRANCE BASS SOUND DESIGNER WANTED!

Hi,

Right Ill cut to the chase, I'm lazy and don't want to reinvent the wheel.

Im writing some music that needs a great bass sound and Ive been 'wading' through the presets avalalbe in the usual way but nothing really fits or inspires me... then I can across a chill trance track on youtube and there it was a sound that would both fit the bill and would spur on my inspiration.... its so 'normal and ordinary' b ut I cant seem to find it anywhere so I assume it a 'dance/trance' production technique...either way Im looking for someone to create it for me or at least give me a step by step guide to how to replicate it!

I have NO issues with rewarding someone for this, as hopefully the right person can help me with a couple of other sound and production techniques I have on my agenda...NONE of which are all that technical... just want to get to the creativity in song writing!

So if you think you may be able to help... lets start a dialogue.... Im going to 'edit' the song with the bass sound into a short excerpt tell me how best to get it available to you..

The bass sound I'm looking for comes in at 40:16, its a full bodied sound with what appears to be a defining 'click' emphasising it. Anyway that's what I'm looking for...

I have access to Dune, Dune 2 and all the usual embeded VST's along with a few others, but if I need anything else I'll happily acquire them....

does that mean you have Orion too?

LOL, I made the assumption that everyone on the synapse audio forum uses Orion.... yes I use 8.5....

switching from Orion to YT and back again isn't really working....

I don't know if its what you mean but I use 'You Tube Downloader' to download the video file it then allows you to convert the video to an audio file generally I use MP3 but I'm un sure if you can save it in other formats...

I have managed to save an MP3 version of the video, just struggling to edit it down to the section needed, I'm trying to use Audicty but b being such a novice I cant find how to 'select' a section....

OK. ive had a quick go at it, its a bit trickier than it seems...mainly because there is actually a lot going on and its difficult to isolate just the bass sound

The kick has a click, there is another percussive click sound, and there are is also a sub bass flowing underneath

the closest i got was using osc 1 for the bass sound (basic saw sound to suit) and osc 2 using the WT "Transients" to add a click sound to the bass (set to One Shot)

make sure both are set to constant - 0 - osc init phase in the Mod Matrix

i set ASR to zero and adjusted decay to suit

you can prob mess around with it more to get it much closer, but the original is mastered, so it will never be 100%

hopefully its a starting point for you (i couldnt upload version with original track, file was too big for here)
