Dune 3 - Filter Click

Postby xanderevo » Fri Dec 14, 2018 8:07 pm

Hey guys I just purchased the Dune 3.

It is a great synth however, I am experiencing a really bad issue with the filter which is terribly impacting the sound, and for me in this state is unusable.

If you swipe up the filter attack on patches or leave it at 15%+ it will generate a really nasty click sound that will result in the synth being useless, audio attached, and patch too.

Help is appreciated.

This is with another lowpass:

With the env deactivated here,
you can clearly hear the click, it must be something in the coding that affects the osc amp within the filter attack?

I cannot reproduce the click here with your attached FXP.

Which host are you using, and which latency (buffer size)? Do you have Multithreading turned on? And did you bounce the audio offline or record audio in realtime from your soundcard?

I have similar clicks in first Patch when I use Arp (midi not sequencer) and set Filter Env Attack around 10 - 20%. If Arp is turn off, clicks disappear.

I have Multithreading turn on, 64bit version latest Reaper and Dune 3 64bit.

Hi Richard, I'm on High Sierra latest build with a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015),
Yes, multithreading and various buffer settings as well as it's just Dune3 playing midi, no bounce.

I got that click on both Logic and Ableton on some patches with a 4+ Poly setting playing more than 4 notes, until I switch to 16... (the midi played in the previous post are 5 notes together).

This is funny, so the clicking totally disappears with a setting of 2 or 16 Poly, but my processor melts, (and with 2 Poly it doesn't play all voices)

With the first patch I assume you mean Adrenaline? If so, please try increasing the Polyphony, because that patch defaults to 4 voices designed for the specific sequence it is playing.
