DUNE 3 not showing up in CUBASE 10.5

Postby GabrielZeeennn » Fri Nov 15, 2019 2:19 pm

It seems that the new version of Cubase 10.5 is not loading Dune 3 :(
Working on Cubase 10.0.5 tho.
Any thoughts ?
I tried everything I guess to have it working, Cubase just can't 'see' it

I thought someone posted this same issue just recently but I can't find the thread here or at KVR. I don't remember the solution that was offered

Seems like Cubase pops up quite frequently. I don't own it so can't help with testing. :?

For what it's worth you're a couple of years behind on your Windows version. They're pushing out 1909 now. I don't know if it has anything to do with your issue or not.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, maybe. However the Pc doesn't want to upgrade at least to version 1803. It always rolls back saying that this update does not apply to my computer version or something like that .. So I can't go forward until 1909. I'm stuck. It looks like 1803 is made for AMD processors and I'm with Intel...(again smth like this that I read on the web)...

is Cubarse VST3 only?

could it be you installed vst2 or both and it's looking in wrong folder?

It was there already with Cubase 10.0.5 and loading (and still today)
Only 10.5 does not load it and I can't see it either on the 'blacklist'.. it became a 'ghost' per say ;)

So something in the Cubase update from 10.0.5 to 10.5 caused Dune 3 to no longer Load ? That should be a good clue for Rich and Marcin.

I assume you've done a re-scan in Cubase or whatever the procedure is to refresh your plugin list.

I am on Mac OS Mojave and for some reason Cubase 10.5.5 picks up DUNE3.20 and 3.07 as 32bit plugins. Both 3.20 and 3.07 crash on plugin scan Cubase 10.5.5.

Thats a shame.

DUNE 3.2 runs fine in Cubase 10.5 on the Mac, both Mojave and Catalina. Be sure to authorize DUNE 3 after installation though. This only needs to be done once, however if this step is cancelled or omitted, DUNE 3 may not function properly.

The auth tool is executed automatically after installation, however you can launch it directly:
/Library/Application Support/Synapse Audio/RegisterDUNE3.app

After completing this step, all should work fine (you may need to reboot your Mac and/or rescan your plugins).

And btw, DUNE 3.2 is 64-bit (only) on the Mac.

HI Richard,

This indeed was the issue. Mojave seems to be hyper vigilant about apps installing and opening different apps even during the install process and I must have clicked away the dialog box post install.

Marcin was gracious enough to send over the RegisterDUNE3 app and it works smoothly. Love this synth.

However I've also discovered some graphical glitches on the "small" versions of the skins. I've attached a screenshot. These glitches don't appear in the default or large versions of the skins.

Hey Sam, how's it going? :D

That might seem like skin file missing, specifically the KbWheel.
Does it also happen if you change the size of the skin, like from Small to Default?

Hiyo!

It happens only in the small versions of the skins, both dark and light. Not in the large or default sizes.

That's really weird.
I don't know if it would be worth trying (or even suggesting) to reinstall it. Who knows, it could remove the problem.

Sadly, I'm not using a Mac, so can't really help there. If this is something more serious that reinstalling can't solve, I'm afraid Richard or Marcin would need to have a look at it.
