the current keyboard input in Orion is a real pain. Ctrl + space to make a space, numpad reserved to Orion. It's almost impossible to edit texts in vst in Orion. For example when I want to name a zebra2 presets the problems come...If I want to make a super midi scripter script...well I choose another host or the standalone version.
Would it be possible to have a normal keystroking-system for example when a vsti is focused ?

keyboard input in Orionin the meantime, in case you weren't aware.. F12 will toggle the keyboard.
keyboard input in Orionhe's not talking about notes, he means text..im afraid you cant do anything about it, Orion takes control of the QWERTY and you cant use it to write text stuff, sucks, but thats the way it is...not being able to use the space bar to actually make a space is a major bummer tho

keyboard input in OrionYes, sorry V/M the word 'keyboard' is a bit ambiguous...I was talking about the 'ASCII human to computer interface', the stuff that convert a keystroke into a byte ( or a word) depending on the local char encoding ( UTF8 or 16).
keyboard input in OrionWhere are you doing all this writing User45a27? It's the same when I use DX Pad in OP to makes notes of 'Load XXX Perfomance to Edirol Before Play. Turn On Wah-Wah' etc. It's a pain typing, as every time I hit the space bar, OP starts playing. I'm kinda used to CTRL now, and try to keep my notes as brief as possible.
Does OP have a notepad like DX Pad? News to me if so.
keyboard input in Orionno it doesnt, but there are several vst/dx ones, but are a pain to use (you end up writing in windows notepad, the copy/paste into vst notepad)

Well Steven, I'm not askin' for the moon, because Oplat 8 is almost done yet, I'm just reporting what was the latest anoying stuffs I've been encountering last days in Oplat7. it's just that: when you need to type text in Oplat there is a problem. If it can changes in next version I'll be lucky...that's all Steven...You know I like Orion... I'm not here to say that it's bad...it's just could be better. Greetings, Baz.
keyboard input in OrionOh okay. I thought I was missing some extra feature OP may have.
it's too bad that a toggle feature like F12 couldn't be done to free OP from it's 'hot key' commands? Something like INSERT or something that returns to a normal QWERTY keyboard. And hit INSERT again to reconnect/resume OP's hot key commands? Or like Krim suggests, Have Notepad/Wordpad open. I do that too when writing lyrics. And that's a pain as well, trying to play OP and open the taskbar icon to see the lyrics then try to stop OP and all. Ironic were all sitting in front of a typewriter that rarely acts like a typewriter anymore.
