Mono EffectIt would be cool for an fx plugin to make a channel mono, specifically for the kick. Add a mono option for the stereo pan/ width plugin,
Mono EffectI do believe there's VST's and/or DX effects out there that can do this for free. Check KVR or Google 'Stereo to Mono VST' and see what pops up.
Mono Effectit's already there :
if you bring down the width to 0 % you are in mono ! Yamaha CS-30, Roland SH-1, Roland MKS70, Focusrite Scarlett 18i6, Yamaha FS1R, Oberheim Matrix 1000, Novation Remote 37SL, Korg Legacy, Alesis M1Active 520, Novation Launchpad Pro, Push2, Intel i7-7700HQ
Mono EffectRight-Click over Pan Button and select "set channel in Mono behavior", that could be awesome.
"Pleeease, bring back ORION!"
Mono EffectDamn, that would be nice Dmassive!
Can you Rich, huh? Can you? Huh, huh??? :hihi:
Mono EffectWhy is haveing mono important on kick would that provide action of some type? I dont know maby you can tell me?
-Orion-Emu 1616 -Korg Triton Extreme - Ibanez - Vox Tone Labs.
Mono EffectMore so for other drums, guitar and vocals Joe-joe. Stereo pans tend to put 50/50 on either side, and pan 60/40 left or right when moved.
A true Mono pan postions 100% of the sound left or right. Much better placement for mono instruments and drum spreads sometimes.
Mono Effect
bass need to be mono, it's an old rule, that we keep using  Yamaha CS-30, Roland SH-1, Roland MKS70, Focusrite Scarlett 18i6, Yamaha FS1R, Oberheim Matrix 1000, Novation Remote 37SL, Korg Legacy, Alesis M1Active 520, Novation Launchpad Pro, Push2, Intel i7-7700HQ
Mono EffectWell, kick and basses usually should be 'centered' anyways. Be it 50/50 or straight up 100. But it's a drag if trying to do 'double kick' or have tandem basses kept separate.
Mono Effectits because kick is powerful. if you give it more field then kick will drown out the other sound and sound muddy. so generally for bass sounds you give minimal width. i generally have mono on kick and a little headway on the bassline bass. btw you can try to change the width and see for yourself the effect kick or bass has on the mix and set it accordingly.
Mono EffectHear's the $64 question - are the pans in DR mono? I like using mono samples when it comes to drums (stereo for cymbals and percussion) But on using individual outs one time, I recall the DR pan behaving like mono, whereas the strip pan was stereo.
Or was drunk at the time? :coffee:
Mono Effectkick and bass should be mono centre panned to allow equal energy distribution and prevent drivers popping out or horns taking off with big chunks of cabinet attached.
btw - it is fucking awesome to behold! (no, not my mix OR my pa) It also has an impact on the process of cutting vinyl, and if not evenly distributed can cause the stylus to behave ultraspazmodically. Last edited by ufo on Sun Jun 20, 2010 10:39 pm, edited 1 time in total.
