You can find some pretty neat EQs over at KVR, like Blue Cat's Triple EQ (a semi-parametric EQ with graphical display). Or something like David Ross' EQ18, or something like Cockos' RealEQ. There's tones of free and commercial stuff on KVR, just search for them.

Why would you want a graphic EQ when we have several parametric EQs to choose from?

The Blue Cat 3 band is parametric.
The graphic stuff isnt really aimed at us, but......

Well, I just started using FabFilter Pro Q. It's such a big help when you actually see what you are doing and also can see the end result. It helps a lot. I'm missing graphical support in Orion a lot. It's about listening, I know, but visuality is so much supporting what you do.

+1 for graphical EQ

there is tons of graphical EQ's btw.....personally i dont use orion's parametric EQ, because i prefer knobs, the mixer eq is very heavily used by me. but thats not the only eq/filters i use....anyways this is the most imp component to shape your sound once it out of the synth

because sometimes other people use or can be better with a graphic equalizer :)

I could do without it. I do like graphic eq:s, make no mistake about that, but I would like to see other improvements in Orion (esp. automation) before a graphic eq is considered. :)

Rubbish. Graphic equalizers are good in a venue, where you can kill frequencies that screw with the acoustics, but beyond that people only every used them because they were much cheaper than anything with a parametric EQ. But now we are working in software, graphic EQs are pretty much redundant and if you can't use a parametric EQ, I'd suggest you should make the effort to get comfortable with them.

reading some of the posts here I might think there is some confusion between set band graphic eq and full parametric eq that happens to have a 'graph' readout in the gui.

Parametric eq with graphs are awesome. Parametric eqs are for PA or old stereo systems.

Why? Those graphics are just eye candy and tell you nothing that you can't get from the knobs that set them. If the graphic included the frequency spectrum of the signal being processed, then they might be more useful but the only one I've seen that does is the Izotope Mastering EQ and even it only shows teh raw input, not the processed output signal.
